Volunteers from Kameno participated in an international fire safety exercise in Istanbul

Volunteers from the Municipality of Kameno participated in an international fire safety exercise at the Istanbul Forestry Training Center in Elbasan. It was held as part of the activities of the BSB00026 – Co-Resilience project - “Cooperation to build community resilience capacity for forest fires and early warning in the Black Sea Basin”. Participants from Bulgaria, Turkey, Moldova and Ukraine gained new knowledge and field skills for fire and emergency management.

This year, Kameno will finally have its own Fire Department building. Its construction and the purchase of a specialized vehicle are also activities of the international Co-Resilience project, funded by the European Union under the Joint Operational Program “Black Sea Basin NEXT”. It is implemented as a continuation of the Co-Prevent project, within the framework of which the Municipality of Kameno built its own early warning system for floods and monitoring the levels of ravines. The lead organization in the project is again the General Directorate of Forestry of Istanbul, Republic of Turkey, and partners are the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, the Fire Department of the city of Kuyalnik, Odessa region, Ukraine, and the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" - Burgas.
